Volunteering for CTMS

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED. . . ?
How can I get more involved with Folk Music?
How can I meet other Folk Music enthusiasts?
How can I help the California Traditional Music Society (CTMS)?
Here are two great ways!

1.

Become a Festival Volunteer

WHAT'S INVOLVED:
Volunteers work a 4-5 hour shift before, during or after the Annual Summer Solstice Folk Music, Dance, and Storytelling Festival.
SKILLS NEEDED:
Most jobs require no specialized skills. We train everyone at one of two group meetings at the Festival Site in June before the Festival. We are looking for responsible, energetic, enthusiastic folks who love Folk Music. Kids 12-18 are also encouraged to apply.
BENEFITS:
Single shift Festival Volunteers receive two (2) single-day passes to the festival (a $50 value) and free parking (a $5 value). Volunteers who want to give more time can work two shifts (8-10 hours total) and receive in addition a limited-edition Festival tee-shirt as well as tickets to a Festival evening event.

Click here for more information on becoming a Festival Volunteer.

2.

Become a Society Volunteer

WHAT'S INVOLVED:
You would work during the year between Festivals at the California Traditional Music Society Center for Folk Music in Encino or other local locations.
SKILLS NEEDED:
We are looking for folks with all sorts of different skills to help with clerical, light carpentry, festival and concert ticket sales, banner and sign making and repair, marketing, graphic design and more.
BENEFITS:
Society volunteers are an essential part of achieving the CTMS Mission of keeping folk music alive and vital in our community. In addition, you may be working with CTMS Members, many of whom are talented musicians, dancers, and storytellers in their own right.
