The California Traditional Music Society (CTMS) is a non-profit, tax exempt educational organization that supports, promotes and encourages participation in traditional arts of the diverse communities of southern California. We do this through festivals, concerts and other events, public education and services to artists.

In 2000 with help from a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, the CTMS created a “Folk Music in the Schools” program. To date the program has reached over 100,000 under-served elementary school students. Recently the program's director Juli Emmel created this short video about the program.

On Sunday, February 26 at 7pm, The California Traditional Music Society and the Topanga Banjo-Fiddle Contest & Folk Festival present An Evening with Little Black Train: a fun, refreshing fusion of vintage fiddle tunes, blazing country blues, and songs of old-time Americana. Click Here for Details
